Our breads are naturally fermented sourdough made with simple ingredients, long fermentation, and baked fresh in small batches right here in Sedona.
What ingredients are in your bread?
All of our sourdough boules and artisan sandwich loaves start with three wholesome ingredients - flour, water, salt.
Some specialty loaves include organic honey, oats, herbs, cheese, lemons, blueberries, jalepeno or other seasonal additions.
Do you use commercial yeast?
Never. All of our breads rise naturally using our sourdough starter.
How long do your loaves ferment?
Our loaves ferment naturally and slowly for 24–36 hours for better flavor and digestibility.
How do I order bread?
Orders are placed online through Bakesy when our monthly ordering window opens.
We also have monthly Bread Shed days or anyone can swing by and grab whatever we’re selling for that day!
When do I pick up my order?
Pickup times are selected at checkout. We bake everything according to scheduled pickup days and will ensure thank you all items are fresh the morning of pickup.
What happens if I miss my bread pick up time?
Because our bread is baked fresh for individual orders and we have limited space, orders not picked up during the pickup window will be donated.
Where is pick up?
Pickup is at our cottage bakery, 45 LIttle Scout Rd, in Sedona.
How long will my fresh bread last?
Because we don’t use any preservatives in our bread, when stored on the counter in a bread bag or wrapped in a towel, 3–7 days. Here at Sedona Sourdough Co., we prefer to store our bread under a glass cake dome, or suggest freezing.
Can I freeze sourdough?
Yes! Slice it first and freeze for up to 3 months. It is easily toasted directly from the freezer, or can be left out at room temp overnight to thaw naturally.
How can I reheat my sourdough to get the crisp back?
Sprinkle lightly with water or run the loaf under a stream of running water briefly and warm in the oven at 350° for about 8–10 minutes.
Why did you start baking sourdough?
It started as a passion project in my kitchen and quickly became something not only our family and friends fell in love with, but our community as well!
What is your most popular bread?
Our classic sourdough, the Sedona Crust boule is our tried and true fan favorite.
We also have developed a small cult following for our springtime citrus lemon loaf and our cinnamon rolls.
What’s your favorite way to eat sourdough?
Toasted with good butter and local honey is simple but delicious. For the jalapeño cheddar loaf, we prefer to make breakfast sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches. for our artisan sandwich loaf, we love chicken salad sandwiches the best!
What is your Bread Shed?
Our Bread Shed is our little temporary slice of heaven, that we choose to roll out once or twice a month, fall through spring, where anyone can swing by and grab breads or our other goodies available that day without having to pre-order!
What does “Claim Your Crust” mean?
It’s our fun way of saying go online, and place your order before we sell out!
Do you sell wholesale?
No, we currently do not sell wholesale.
Can I swing by anytime to grab a loaf?
Being that we are a cottage bakery, every loaf is guaranteed fresh when it is handed over to our customers. Because of this, we don’t keep a huge stock on hand and do require a three day notice, due to the natural fermentation process of our breads that we bake.
The best day to swing by to grab a loaf would be on our bread shed days where we have plenty of breads available on a first come first serve basis.
