Yes absolutely! Sourdough bread can be frozen for months and come back to life as if it was freshly baked. Pop it in the oven on 350 degrees directly from frozen for 15 minutes or until the crust is crispy!
Why is Crust & Co. bread so much more expensive than sourdough from the grocery store?
Most commercially produced "sourdough" isn't actually real sourdough, but rather a quicker, cheaper imitation using additives and commercial yeast to achieve a sour taste without the lengthy fermentation process required for authentic sourdough, allowing for faster mass production at a lower cost.
Crust & Co. sourdough is composed of the simplest ingredients - flour, water, and sea salt- and ferments for a minimum of 24 hours. Every loaf is baked the same day you receive it. No exceptions. Taste the Crust & Co. difference for yourself!
Is Crust & Co. sourdough Non-GMO and organic?
Our bread is Non-GMO, but not considered completely organic at this time. We use a combination of King Arthur Bread Flour and generic bread flour in our baking process.
Does sourdough bread have any health benefits?
Yes! Studies have shown that sourdough has a multitude of health benefits. Thanks to the sourdough fermentation process, it is easier to digest and helps your body absorb more of the nutrients found in grains. It also has a lower glycemic index compared to commercial yeast bread. These are just some of the many positive impacts sourdough can have on your health.
