How do I get my order?
Porch pickups are available after 3pm on Tuesday afternoons on the west side of Hamilton.
Once your order is ready, I put them on a shelf on our screened-in porch and and text you a picture. You are free to come and get them whenever you are available. You are under no obligation to knock on the door to let me know you’ve arrived, but if you have any questions, concerns, or would just like to chat, you are more than welcome to knock!
Are your products made in a dedicated gf home?
No. There is gluten in my kitchen a few times a week. I am unable to tolerate any gluten at all due to autoimmune issues; however, my husband and children occasionally have gluten in our dining room and kitchen. We do not, however, ever have powdery gluten-containing products like wheat flour or baking mixes in our house.
What safety procedures do you take to prevent cross-contact?
Before working on bakery orders, every single surface in my kitchen it first scrubbed with soapy water, then wiped down with clear water, and finally sanitized with Lysol wipes. This procedure is the same regardless of whether or not any gluten has been in my home since baking previously.
Every single item I bake is prepared with equipment and ingredients that are 100% dedicated to gluten free baking and never used to prepare meals for my family. My oven is also 100% dedicated gluten free.
I only buy products which are labeled gluten free or products in which I have been able to confirm a gluten free status with from the manufacturer. I do not reach out to manufacturers of some gluten free food items like milk, butter, or produce.
What if I have other allergies and sensitivities than just gluten?
I am predominantly a gluten-free baker. Many other bakers specialize in having completely allergen free bakeries, but I do not. My kitchen often contains dairy, egg, nuts, soy, and sesame. Cross-contact with these allergens is possible.
If you have a non-anaphylactic sensitivity to an ingredient in a product you would like to purchase, you have to option of placing a special order to buy an entire batch of the product. I will work with you to find reasonable substitutes, when possible, only charging extra for any needed ingredient substitutes.
