Tentative itinerary is as follows:
Thu 6/11 fly out of Phoenix (1 layover)
Fri 6/12 arrive in Frankfurt in the morning, drive to Cologne via lower Rhine River Valley (a UNESCO world heritage site) including iconic stops at St. Goarshausen, Loreley, an exhilarating mountain coaster, then crossing the Rhine by ferry to visit Rheinstein Castle on the other shore 
Sat 6/13 Cologne (day 1) We will explore the world famous Cologne Cathedral, followed by visiting the Old Town (Altstadt). In the afternoon, a visit to the Rhine Promenade along the riverfront is followed by crossing the iconic Hohenzollern Bridge
Sun 6/14 Cologne (day 2) A visit to the Chocolate Museum is followed by lunch in the Belgian Quarter with its trendy cafés. A variety of museum choices or panoramic walks in the city round out the evening.
Mon 6/15 drive to Frankfurt via upper Rhine River Valley including iconic stops between Cologne and Koblenz, such as the Haribo factory outlet, Bonn, and castles on rocky crags near the Deutsches Eck, where the Moselle meets the Rhine 
Tue 6/16 exploring Frankfurt, a sleek cosmopolitan city where glass skyscrapers rise beside historic squares and riverfront charm 
Wed 6/17 day trip to Rothenburg, a storybook medieval town that feels like stepping back in time
Thu 6/18 fly home from Frankfurt to Phoenix (1 layover), arrive back home in the late evening

Remainder ($1,700 for double occupancy, $2,200 for single occupancy) due by April 30, 2026.

For payment by credit card, an additional 2.6% will be added for card processing fees (actual cost).
Comparable trips like this, without airfare, typically run anywhere from $4,500 to $6,000. I am offering these trips for the love of travel and showing my home country.
Trip can be cancelled for a full refund minus $250 planning fee by March 31. If canceled by April 30, the 50% deposit is forfeited and the remainder (if paid) is refunded. No refunds after April 30. Further details will be outlined in a contract upon reservation.

Tue 12/1 flight from Phoenix to Munich (1 layover).
Wed 12/2 arrive in Munich by early afternoon, check into hotel, explore the city and Christmas markets downtown
Thu 12/3 depending on the weather, day trip to either Neuschwanstein Castle, OR the famous Christmas market in Burghausen, a charming, small-town event set against the backdrop of the world’s longest castle, offering festive stalls, traditional crafts, and a cozy medieval atmosphere. Both destinations are approx. 90 mins from Munich. Stop at the Landsberg Christmas Market on the way back. This is a romantic old town dating back to Roman times.
Fri 12/4 sightseeing in Munich in the morning, including the famous glockenspiel in Marienplatz and viewing the downtown area from the belfry of “Alter Peter.” In the evening, visit to Schloss Kaltenberg Christmas market, a magical, medieval-style market held in an old castle, featuring artisan crafts, fire shows, live music, and a fairytale forest
Sat 12/5 drive to Nuremberg with a stop at the Ingolstadt Christmas Market along the way. Check into hotel, explore the city and visit the “Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt,” one of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in the world, renowned for its historic ambiance, traditional wooden stalls, and iconic Christkind opening ceremony in the heart of Nuremberg’s Old Town
Sun 12/6 sightseeing and a visit to the Imperial Castle in Nuremberg, followed by a second night at the Christmas markets
Mon 12/7 visit Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the world-famous medieval town, including the famous “Reiterlesmarkt” and the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas store. Check into hotel near Frankfurt
Tue 12/8 sightseeing in Frankfurt and visit to Frankfurt Christmas Market, one of the largest and oldest in Germany, with stunning medieval buildings, a huge Christmas tree, and over 200 stalls OR visit to Rüdesheim am Rhein and the “Christmas Market of the Nations.” Features vendors from over a dozen countries; a beautiful riverside setting with a cable car to the Niederwald monument OR visit to the Würzburg Christmas Market. (Because this is near the end of our trip, we will plan this day on site after seeing how the guests are feeling and what they would like to do that day.)
Wed 12/9 visit to Aschaffenburg, a charming town located near Frankfurt, with both an amazing farmers market on Wednesday morning, as well as a large Christmas market and countless shopping options downtown for last-minute gifts to bring home. 
Thu 12/10 flight from Frankfurt to Phoenix (1 layover), arrive back home in the late evening
