The recipe is from my mother in law's mother's, probably written before 1920. Now a days, most of the bakers use anise extract, but the recipe says, "Use Anise power." As I follow the recipe, the cookie dough comes out slightly brown-ish.

This is a 2 layer of Tart Cake. It's not a sponge cake decorated with butter cream. It's almost like a soft cookie cake. The tart dough is made with almond flour that'll give you a rich almond flavor. Cream is a mixture of mascarpone cream cheese and heavy cream lightly sweetened.
