I require a minimum of 10 days advance notice for orders. But encourage customers to place further out to ensure that any specialty items needed for the cake, such as custom toppers and other outsourced supplies, can be ordered and received in a timely manner.
What is the ordering process?
On the website's main page, you'll select "request an order"
You'll be led to a menu screen of the different products we offer.
Scroll through and select all the items you'd like for your order. (Brief descriptions of each item can be found by tapping on the picture of the item.)
Hit "next" to move forward
A confirmation of what's in your cart will appear hit "next" to move forward.
A calendar will appear. Select the date you want to collect your order. (If the date is grayed out it is unavailable) and select "next"
A questionnaire will follow to gather all the necessary information for each item selected for us to execute your order.
There is a place to attach inspiration photos toward the end of the questionnaire.
Once you've completed the questionnaire and provided your contact information and agreed to the terms and conditions you can submit the request.
Your screen will change to an order outline page which shows you all of the details you provided.
We will be in contact with you within 24hrs if you submit during the week. If submitted over a weekend it will be responded to on Tuesday (our next business day)
Will my order be OK for the next day if I pick up a day ahead?
Yes
Your order will still be fresh if you pick up a day or two ahead of time. You'll want to store your order properly until the event. Care instructions will be provided to you. Please make sure to review all of the information on our care card attached to your order thoroughly. If you have any questions, please let us know.
How much are your cakes?
Custom cake pricing is determined by numerous factors such as the cake size, cake flavor(s), fillings, icing, intricacy of the design, additional supplies and internal structuring needed, packaging, and labor. Due to all these varying components, cakes are priced on an individual basis.
Is a deposit required
Yes, a deposit is required. The deposit is 50% of the full total of the order.
Can I pay in Full
Yes,
Just let us know during the finalizing order process that you'd like a full total invoice and we can send that instead of the split invoice
When is my balance due?
The balance of your order is due by your pick up. The final invoice will be sent to you at least a day prior to your pick up.
Please note yes you can pay the balance in cash but we ask that it be exact change has cash is not typically on hand. Also if you are sending someone in your place to collect your cake please make sure you have paid your balance by their arrival as the order will not be surrendered to them until payment is received.
How do I transport my cake
Cake should be transported on a flat surface...( such as) floor or trunk, which are the most stable spaces for this.
If you must put your cake on a seat it's best to roll up a floor mat or a coat, purse or blanket/towel to place in the angled space so that you are creating as level a resting place as possible. It is NOT recommended that a passenger hold a cake.
Car should be cool.....almost an ice box cold during the summer and super warm days to prevent icing from softening, which can cause the cake to shift or sag during transport.
During winter months, vehicles should not be warmer than room temperature. And no direct heat should be blowing on the cake box.
It is NOT recommended to run errands after picking up the cake.
Take your time when driving.
If need be turn on your hazard lights. Try to avoid hard stops and slamming on your brakes, go slow over bumps, and slow down, taking turns.
Give yourself enough time between pick up time and event start time so you are not rushing.
If sending someone to pick up in your place, choose someone who is a cautious driver. Don't send the lead foot friend who will forget they have a cake in the car, lol
Do you offer delivery?
Delivery may be available if there is availability during the requested window of time. (Window of time must be at least 30 minutes) deliveries must be within a 50 mile radius of Odenton. Conjested areas such as downtown DC and downtown Baltimore have an additional fee. As do deliveries that require the use of a parking garage, tolls or meter parking.
If you want to inquire about delivery and its fee, you will need to mention interest at the time of submitting your order request. Easiest way is to selected delivery on the main product page but you can state it in "notes to baker" or in any of the "special requests" sections. You will need to provide the address that is receiving the delivery, the window of time alloted for the delivery to be received. The type of venue it is (ex. home, apartment, community center, restaurant, event venue, hotel, conference center, office building, etc.) And name if not a residence. If there is availability in the schedule for the delivery a quote for the delivery will be provided to you along with your order request quote. If delivery is not possible it will be noted in the message to you with your order quote.
