I will be taking a break for about 4 weeks. I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to bake for you when I return. When I return I'll be adding a lemon blueberry loaf to the menu! 😀 Thank you so much for supporting my small business!
Sourdough is a method of leavening bread. Unlike most store bought bread, Sourdough doesn't use any commercial yeast to rise. Instead, it uses a "starter" of fermented flour and water to raise bread. The fermentation process of sourdough breaks down complex carbohydrates in the flour, making it easier to digest, while also producing beneficial bacteria, better known as probiotics, that support a healthy gut microbiome.
How do I create a Sourdough starter?
Creating a Sourdough starter from scratch can take up to 3 weeks. The yeast and bacteria from the flour and environment need to work together to create a symbiotic relationship. This takes time to create.
Is everything you make with Sourdough?
Yes! All of our breads are leavened only with our sourdough starter. It's also incorporated into our scones, cookies, muffins, and cinnamon rolls.
All of our breads undergo a bulk fermentation process, following a long cold fermentation that helps to develop the delicious sourdough flavor.
Do you make gluten-free Sourdough bread?
No, unfortunately we do not.
How far in advance should I order?
