Sourdough Kitchen Jax

Welcome! I am a lifelong lover of good bread, who started on a journey baking sourdough about 10 years ago when my sister gave me some of her starter.

For me, the draw of sourdough was partly health related; I had read about how naturally leavened sourdough bread is gentler on the gut, and I quickly discovered for myself that it was true! Along the way I fell in love with the versatility of sourdough. I realized I could substitute sourdough starter for yeast in virtually any bakery item, and that I could long ferment non-yeasted baked goods to increase digestibility.

In November 2024 I decided to share my love of sourdough baking, and Sourdough Kitchen Jax was born!

Bread prices start at $10 for the traditional artisan loaf, and range up to $14 for most sandwich and inclusion loaves. Bagels start at $10 for 4 plain; add $2 for a topping or inclusion.

The menu includes a number of other items which vary by season.

Seasonal/specialty items include scones, muffins, rolls, cookies, brownies, pumpkin bread, and saffron buns.
