A fake tiered cake (also called a dummy cake) is a display cake made with decorated foam tiers instead of fully edible cake. From the outside, it looks identical to a real wedding or event cake, same frosting, texture, and design, but some or all of the tiers are not meant to be eaten. The main purpose is to save money while still getting a large, beautiful centerpiece. Since real cake is typically priced per serving, replacing some tiers with dummies allows you to have the tall, elegant look you want without paying for hundreds of servings you may not actually need. It’s also great for keeping the cake structurally stable and picture-perfect throughout the event. For serving guests, fresh cake is usually provided separately (like sheet cakes cut in the back), so no one misses out on dessert. You also have flexible options: * You can add a real slice section into one of the tiers for cutting photos * Or upgrade to include a fully real 6” cake tier on top for a traditional cake cutting moment
Barrel cakes are taller typically little to no piping. These cakes are typically best for men or children! They are taller than my average circle cake so they do feed more.
My sheet cakes are a large rectangular cake made of two stacked layers with filling (if wanted) in between. It keeps the easy serving and clean cuts of a traditional sheet cake, but adds extra height, flavor, and a more elevated look—closer to a tiered cake while still being practical for large events.
