About
Hi, I’m Melinda — wife, mom of five boys, engineer by profession, and baker by passion.
Originally from Puerto Rico and now living in Texas, I created HomePlateLife to carry on the tradition I grew up with. My mom built her catering business from our family home, and as the oldest daughter, I spent years helping in the kitchen and learning how food brings people together.
Today, I manage construction projects by day and bake in small batches by night. HomePlateLife is built on a simple belief: homemade still matters.
Every loaf, cookie, and treat is made with quality ingredients, no shortcuts, and plenty of love. My Puerto Rican roots and Texas home inspire everything I bake — bringing together island warmth, Southern hospitality, and the joy of sharing good food.

❤️ A Little Family Update ❤️ Thank you all for your messages, calls, prayers, and support. Our 9-year-old son is back home, and his surgery went great. My heart is full with the kindness our family has received over the past few days. ❤️ I truly appreciate everyone who reached out and checked in on us. The bakery is back open, and orders are already coming in fast. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
