It all began with a craving for connection—and a nostalgia for home.
Inspired by the rich flavors of South Africa, I started baking rusks—a beloved double-baked treat meant to be dipped in coffee or tea—for my friends and family here in the USA. My American husband took one bite and was hooked. He called them “coffee dippers,” and just like that, the name—and the spark—were born.
Soon, I was baking everything from traditional South African fudge to ginger snaps, each treat carrying a taste of home. But then something unexpected happened.
With encouragement from my sister my little cottage bakery took a bold new turn—into the world of sourdough bread. What started as a side passion quickly became the heart of my business. And to my surprise and joy, customers fell in love with my sourdough. It became the runaway bestseller, far outpacing anything else on my menu.
What began as a simple way to share my culture has now grown into something so much bigger—a bridge between two homes, baked fresh each week. I’m proud to keep offering cherished South African treats alongside the soul-satisfying sourdough that now anchors my kitchen.
Orders must be placed by Wednesday’s 10:00 PM for that week’s bread drop.
Full Payment is due by Wednesday of the bread drop week to confirm your order.
Unpaid orders will not be baked or held.
