Bent Creek Bakehouse is my small, home-based bakery in Westfield, Indiana, inspired by my grandmother’s kitchen and rooted in tradition. Every loaf is baked with care using organic ingredients and time-honored recipes. My great-grandparents were farmers, and I carry that legacy by choosing local ingredients whenever they’re available. Supporting small farmers and my local community is incredibly important to me. I take great pride in using only the highest quality ingredients—nothing goes into my breads that I wouldn’t feel good about serving my own children. I feed my customers with the same care and intention I give to my family, and that’s something I feel truly proud of.
2. How do I place an order?
Each week, I post a new menu on Facebook and through my Bakesy page. You can place your order by messaging me directly or ordering through the Bakesy link provided in the weekly menu.
3. When is the weekly menu posted?
I post the new weekly menu every Saturday, and orders for featured items typically close by Tuesday evening, unless otherwise noted or listed as still available on Bakesy.
4. What kinds of bread do you offer?
I bake a wide variety of breads each week, including banana bread, zucchini bread, seasonal flavors, and a rotating featured loaf. My sourdough sandwich loaves are especially popular, along with artisan boules and specialty quick breads. Every menu brings something new and delicious to the table!
5. Do you offer gluten-free or dairy-free options?
Yes! I offer both gluten-free and dairy-free versions of many loaves. These are clearly labeled on the menu each week.
6. Where and when do I pick up my order?
Pick-up is available every Friday at my home in Westfield. If Friday doesn’t work for you, I’m happy to coordinate an alternative day that fits your schedule—just let me know when you place your order.
7. Do you offer delivery?
Yes! I offer free delivery to neighbors in Bent Creek. For customers outside the neighborhood, delivery is available within a 5-mile radius of the bakehouse for a $10 fee on orders of $30 or more. If you’re just outside that range or have special circumstances, feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to discuss options.
8. How should I store my bread?
For best freshness, store your bread at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Sourdough loaves can be frozen for longer storage—just slice before freezing for easy toasting later!
9. Can I order for a special occasion or in larger quantities?
Absolutely. I’d love to help with your special event or gift order! Please reach out in advance so I can plan accordingly.
10. Do you use organic and local ingredients?
Yes. I use organic flour, organic eggs, and local ingredients whenever possible. My sourdough loaves are naturally leavened and sweetened with local raw honey.
11. What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal for all orders. Cash is accepted only from neighbors and friends upon pickup. To prevent waste and ensure every loaf has a home, payment is required in advance for all other orders.
12. Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, I offer gift cards! They make a thoughtful gift for any bread lover.
13. Do you offer subscriptions?
A subscription service is also in the works, so if you’re interested in receiving fresh bread on a regular basis, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
14. Do you support local farms or businesses?
Yes! Supporting local is at the heart of Bent Creek Bakehouse. I use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible—like farm-fresh eggs, local raw honey, and seasonal produce from nearby farms. It’s my way of giving back to the community and making sure each loaf is as fresh, wholesome, and meaningful as possible.
15. How much notice do you need?
Most of my breads can be ready within a day’s notice, depending on availability. However, sourdough loaves require at least 2 days’ notice. Although the full sourdough process takes three days, I often keep my starter active, which allows me to bake loaves within two days when needed. For the best chance of getting exactly what you want, especially for sourdough or larger orders, I always recommend ordering as early as possible.
16. Do you accept Venmo?
Yes! Please do not mark it as a good or service as Venmo charges a significant fee for this. I’m trying to keep prices as reasonable as possible. Thank you!
