A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order, with the remaining balance due before the order is released at time of pickup or delivery. Orders are not booked until the deposit is received. I accept Cash, Cash App, PayPal, and Zelle at this time.
Cancellation & Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable, as ingredients and time are reserved for your order. If you cancel at least 72 hours in advance, your final balance will simply be waived. No refunds are given for cancellations within 48 hours.
Minimum Orders
Cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, and dessert bars all have minimum quantities, depending on the item. Cakes start at one order minimum. Bento boxes and smash cakes also follow my standard minimums.
How Far in Advance to Book
Custom cakes should be booked 1–2 weeks ahead whenever possible. Smaller items can sometimes be squeezed in sooner, depending on the week. Holiday weeks and pop-up weekends fill up fastest — the earlier the better!
Delivery vs Pickup
Pickup is in Oakland near Lake Merritt.
Delivery is available within 3 miles (flat $12) and further at $1.50 per mile round-trip. San Francisco deliveries include an additional toll fee. Delivery safety fee applies for all city deliveries.
Storage Instructions
Buttercream cakes can stay refrigerated until 1–2 hours before serving. Cupcakes and cookies should be kept in an airtight container at room temp unless noted otherwise. Each order comes with custom storage and serving instructions.
Allergies / Food Safety
My kitchen uses common allergens such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, and nuts. While I do my best to prevent cross-contamination, Baked by the Bay is not an allergen-free kitchen.
Custom Design Process
You’ll share your inspo photos, colors, and/or theme. I’ll send back a design plan with options that fit your budget. Once your deposit is paid, your date is locked in and I handle the rest — from sketch to sprinkles. Please note: while I welcome inspiration photos, I honor copyright and will create a design that’s uniquely yours rather than duplicating another baker’s work.
Order Changes
Small changes (colors, writing, simple additions) can usually be made up to 72 hours before pickup. Large design changes or size changes may require additional payment or may not be possible close to your date.
Pop-Ups & Seasonal Info
