I’m Sara, a wife and mother to 3 awesome elementary school kids (and the “neighborhood mom” to a few others ❤️). I love to bake and I thrive when challenged, so I decided to start my sourdough journey more than 12 years ago. I upgraded to starting my first sourdough mother more than 8 years ago, and it’s still going strong today!
Lately, as we’ve been talking to our kids about careers, growing up, and finding something that brings them joy, I have been not-so-secretly dreaming of being “ready” to share what I love. Life is not long and “ready” is made up so I decided ready is right now. My husband said “It’s about time!” He’s my biggest fan ❤️. I want our kids to see me put into practice what I’m asking of them, while being authentically me, so Wild Hearts Bakehouse was born.

Where the Yeast is Wild, the Bakes are Fermented, and the House is Full of Heart!
We source quality ingredients like unbleached & unbromated flours, local Michigan honey, fresh herbs, and some freshly milled flours. In addition to making all of our batters and doughs, we also make our own compotes, marshmallows, herb blends, icings, frostings, and more!

Sunday: I will release a limited menu featuring new flavors we’re trying! Once I receive your order requests, you will receive an approval or a message from me if something has sold out for the week!
Wednesday: 9pm special weekly menu orders close. Invoices will go out by Thursday morning and are due upon receipt unless paying in person has been noted.
Friday: Bake Day! Orders will be ready for pickup in SW Portage between 5-7pm. If you prefer to have your items delivered, shoot me a quick message and we can set that up ! *fees may apply

It's not just a fad, it's a better carb! Sourdough is the OG of bread making, utilizing the natural yeasts found all around us to leaven our breads. All of our doughs and batters are long fermented to maximize the health benefits of sourdough!
