The D’ssert Suite is a North Chicago home bakery offering curated desserts, custom cakes, and seasonal dessert boxes. Every menu is intentionally designed, baked in small batches, and released in limited quantities to ensure quality you can taste and care you can feel.

Payment is due at time of booking to secure order.
Place orders at least 2 weeks in advance. Orders may be accepted with a shorter notice. A RUSH FEE may apply. There is a 1 dozen minimum order for cupcakes (unless noted) and 1 flavor per dozen. Payment must be made at the time of order.
Wedding cakes are usually placed far in advance (at least 3-6 months). The D’ssert Suite calendar fills up fast. It is best to reserve your date sooner rather than later. A non-refundable retainer must be paid in order to secure your date.
ALL payments for custom orders are NONREFUNDABLE (see cancellation policy). The D’ssert Suite is a small, home based bakery, not a bank. While we are happy to apply your payment to store credit for a future order, we do not give cash refunds for any custom orders. From the minute you place your order, we immediately make multiple investments to ensure that your order will be completed, some of which include: turning down other potential orders, spending great deals of time properly planning the execution of your design, and purchasing necessary tools and supplies. When you make a deposit or a payment for a cake, that is a commitment on your behalf, and we will hold you to it, just as you should hold us to our commitment of delivering your cake.
All Payments MUST be made according to schedule or your order might be canceled. Creating custom orders requires a substantial investment on my behalf, and failure to meet payment deadlines exposes me to losses that we can’t afford as a small, home based bakery. Therefore if you fail to pay for your order as scheduled we may not be able to complete your order. For all custom orders like wedding cakes, a 50% deposit is due to secure your date and the balance is due 30 days prior to event date. For smaller custom orders, a 50% deposit is due to secure your date and the remaining balance is due one week prior to event date. A rush fee may apply.
You agree and give full release that we may use images we take of the cake(s) we have created for you for any and all marketing purposes we deem appropriate. This may include but are not limited to social media sites, our website, in our bakery or at event venues.
In the event you need to cancel your contract, for wedding cake or custom cake orders, the non-refundable retainer or deposit paid is forfeited. If additional payments have been paid, a portion of these payments may be retained to cover the expense of supplies purchased and loss of potential income. If you cancel your contract within 14 calendar days of the event, no refund will be given of any amount paid. In the event of unforeseen circumstances (not including acts of God, natural disasters, or inclement weather) that prevents The D'ssert Suite from fulfilling the order as agreed upon in this contract, the customer will be entitled to a full refund of the amount paid, including any deposit.
The D’ssert Suite make every attempt to ensure that your baked goods are free from foreign objects. We are not responsible for damages caused by foreign objects such as candles, sparklers or other decorations that are placed on or in our products, nor are we responsible for damages to said products, or persons handling them once they are picked up, removed, or delivered from our premises.
