About
Hi there! Thank you for your interest and supporting my local home bakery business.
Before having my first baby in 2022 I worked full time as a cake decorator in a large scale bakery. After leaving my job I began to really miss the creative outlet of decorating so I started practicing royal icing cookies in my free time & I fell in love with it. I decided to start up this little business to stay creative, help make a little extra income for our family, and decompress after a long day of chasing kids around. We recently welcomed our second baby so I’m a little busier than usual and my availability is limited but I will do my best to accommodate you!
I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania Academy of Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry arts in 2018. I love all things cooking & baking but have always gravitated towards the artistic aspects such as cakes & cookies.

Policies
Availability & Payment Info
Availability is limited and all submissions, dates and pickup times are subject to availability. Once I determine if I am able to fulfill your order you will receive an invoice. A 50% deposit is due within 72 hours of placing your order in order to secure your date/time. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before your order date. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis. Pickup location is just outside of Pittsburgh, in Verona-15147, exact address will be sent with invoice.
Allergens
My kitchen is not allergy free but please let me know if you have an allergy you would like me to be aware of and I will do my best to avoid cross contamination. All cookies contain gluten, dairy, and egg, this cannot be avoided.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made 7 days prior to the pickup date in order to receive a full refund. For cancellations made with less than 7 days notice, no refund will be provided. In the event of an emergency where Sweets By Summer must cancel your order a full refund will be provided along with a shop credit of 20% of your original order amount.
Pickup Information & Policy
Orders must be picked up in Verona, PA (10 miles Northeast of Pittsburgh) during an agreed upon time slot. Exact address will be sent with invoice. Please notify me when you are on your way. Once your order leaves my front porch I am not responsible for any cookies that break in transit. If you do not pickup your order during your agreed upon time slot your order will be held for 24 hours before it is forfeited. If your order is forfeited due to a no-show or no-text you will not receive a refund.
Shipping Information & Policy
If you would like your order shipped please select while ordering and provide your address. Shipping and handling fees will be added including a $2/dozen fee of individually heat sealing each cookie. Cookies will be bagged individually in heat sealed bags to maintain freshness and packaged securely to ensure they are as protected as can be. Once they are handed to the third party shipping company there is nothing I can do to avoid damage and am not responsible for issuing refunds due to damage from the mailing company.
