How far in advance should I place my order?
Custom orders require a minimum of 2 weeks' notice. However, my calendar books up very quickly, especially around holidays and weekends! I recommend reaching out as soon as you know the date of your event to ensure availability.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. To officially secure your date on my baking calendar, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. This deposit must be paid within 48 hours of receiving your invoice. If the deposit is not paid within that window, the invoice is cancelled and the date is released to other clients. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your pickup date.
Where are you located, and do you deliver?
Sugar & Soul Bakehouse is a home-based cottage bakery located in Lithia Springs, GA. The exact pickup address is provided once your final payment is made. Delivery is available for an additional fee, which is calculated based on mileage and my baking schedule.
Do you offer allergy-friendly, gluten-free, or vegan options?
All of my products are baked in a home kitchen that regularly handles common food allergens, including dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, and tree nuts. While I take cross-contamination very seriously, I cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment.
What happens if I need to cancel or change my order?
• Changes: Any changes to the design, flavor, or serving size must be requested at least 7 days before your pickup date.
• Cancellations: If you cancel more than 7 days in advance, your 50% deposit remains non-refundable, but any additional payments made will be refunded. Orders cancelled less than 7 days before the event cannot be refunded, as ingredients have already been purchased and prepped.
How should I transport my custom cake?
Always carry your cake box from the bottom, never the sides! Place it on a flat, level surface in your car (like the floorboard or a cleared-out trunk). Never place a cake on a slanted car seat. Please keep your air conditioning running high, as Georgia heat can quickly melt buttercream!
Do my treats need to be refrigerated?
• Cakes, Cupcakes, and Strawberries: Yes! Keep these in the fridge. For cakes and cupcakes, take them out 1 to 2 hours before serving so the buttercream can soften to room temperature.
• Cookies, Cinnamon Rolls, and Pretzels: Keep these at room temperature. Refrigerating them can cause them to dry out or become stale. (Note: Cakes with cream cheese frosting must stay refrigerated until right before serving).
How do I place an order?
It’s easy! Just fill out my custom order inquiry form with your event date, the treats you are looking for, and your design ideas. I will review your request, finalize the details with you, and send over an invoice so you can pay your deposit and lock in your date!
