For customized cakes, it's helpful to place your order at least 2 weeks in advance. This gives me enough time to order any special items needed and ensures the cake will fit your image! I can usually accept last-minute orders within 4-7 days, but it really depends on what you're wanting. If you need a special order or have a tight deadline, don't hesitate to reach out—I'll do my best to fit you into my schedule!
How should I store my baked goods?
Cakes:
- Refrigerator: Cakes can last about 3-5 days in the fridge. Make sure to cover them with plastic wrap or place them in an airtight container to keep them fresh!
- Counter: Most cakes can be stored at room temperature for about 2-3 days if they're covered well. Cakes with perishable fillings (like cream cheese frosting, custard, fruit fillings) should always be refrigerated.
Cupcakes:
- Refrigerator: Cupcakes with frosting can be stored in the fridge for about 3-5 days. Just like cakes, cover them or place them in an airtight container. If not covered tightly, they will dry out and because hard.
- Counter: Frosted cupcakes can last about 1-2 days on the counter in an airtight container.
Cookies:
- Refrigerator: Cookies can last about 1-2 weeks in the fridge if stored in an airtight container.
- Counter: Most cookies can be stored at room temperature for about 1 week in an airtight container.
Tips:
- Always keep baked goods in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- For items with perishable ingredients, refrigeration is key to keeping them fresh and safe to eat.
Can I freeze your cakes?
Absolutely!
Here are some tips for freezing and thawing cakes:
1. Plastic wrap: Place decorated cake in the fridge for 2-3 hours or, if you have enough space, the freezer for 1 hour. This will harden the icing and allow you to wrap the cake without damaging the decorations! You can also add a layer of aluminum foil over the plastic wrap for extra protection against freezer burn.
2. Use Airtight Containers: If possible, place the cake or cake slices in an airtight container or a freezer-safe bag.
3. Label and Date: Don’t forget to label your cake with the type and date. This way, you’ll know how long it’s been in the freezer. Most cakes can be frozen for up to 3 to 4 months, but some can last up to a year. The longer you freeze a cake, the more its flavor and texture will decline!
4. Thaw Properly: When you're ready to use the cake, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight. This helps maintain the cake’s texture and moisture. If thawing overnight isn’t an option, let thaw in fridge for 1-2 hours, then let thaw on counter for 2-3 hours!
Following these tips will help keep your cakes fresh and delicious even after freezing!
What dietary restrictions can you accommodate?
My most common dietary restriction orders are gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, and dye-free.
I completely understand what it's like not being able to enjoy the foods you love due to dietary restrictions. Baking is my passion, and creating sweets that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy is just as important to me. If you need something specific, or have questions about what I can do, just let me know, and I'll do what I can to make it happen!
