The minimum order for a custom cake is $150.
A 50% deposit is required to place all orders. Deposits are due within 48hrs.
There are 1-3 dozen minimums for each dessert.
Please read all of our studio policies prior to booking. Submitting payment is an acknowledgement and acceptance of all terms & conditions.
We require a 2-week lead time on all orders, however we recommend reaching out one month in advance. For larger orders & weddings, we recommend even more advanced notice - we can book future orders for up to a year in advance. Since we do customized and often highly-detailed work, we are limited in the number of orders we can fulfill each week - this means we tend to book up, especially during peak months (October-March). So submit your inquiry early to ensure your date is available! DEPOSITS A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book your order. This deposit reserves your date and locks in your order. In the event that pricing has not been finalized, a $100 non-refundable deposit will be required to reserve a date and then details can be squared away at a later time. A $50 design fee will be included for any order requiring a cake design sketch which will also be non-refundable. However, if you proceed with your order, both the deposit and design fee will go towards your balance. The balance is due in full 14 days prior to the pickup/delivery date for orders under $500. For orders exceeding $500, the balance is due 21 days prior to the pickup/delivery date. Weddings must be paid in full no less than one month prior to the event date. In the event that the balance is not paid in full by the agreed upon date, we reserve the right to cancel the order. Any payments previously made will be non-refundable and non-transferable. CANCELLATIONS If you wish to cancel your order with us outright, we must receive a notification of your intent to cancel in writing at least 28 days prior to your event date. We will retain the initial non-refundable deposit. If you have paid in full before the balance due date and wish to cancel, we will retain the 50% deposit, however, 50% of the balance paid up to $500 may be transferred to another event within (6) months of your original date. This is entirely at our discretion and dependent on availability. If intent to cancel is communicated after your balance due date, the balance is still due in full and is non-refundable and non-transferable. CHANGES The final date to request any changes to the size, style, flavor, or design of your order is 14 days prior to your pickup/delivery date. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges. PAYMENT We accept payments via Zelle, Venmo, and card via Bakesy. We do not accept checks. Credit card payments are subject to card processing fees. FLORALS We like to work with fresh florals on many of our cakes and generally source the florals for you. However, florals may be provided to us either before pickup or at delivery by you or your florist for us to place on the cake. We request that we be the ones to place the flowers instead of you or your florist because floral arrangement is an integral part of the overall design and we want to ensure that each cake is up to the P+P standard. Flowers must be received at least (1) day prior to pickup/delivery if they are to be delivered to us beforehand. We are not responsible for the condition or quantity of florals received if we are not sourcing them ourselves. In the event that your florist is providing florals to us at delivery, they must be available for us at the designated cake table upon our arrival. Due to tight scheduling, we may not have extra time to wait for florals to arrive. If this happens and we cannot place the florals, the floral placement fee will not be refunded. Further, you acknowledge that fresh florals are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. While we do wrap stems and only insert wrapped stems or toothpicks/skewers into the cake, it is understood that the flowers themselves are not food products and are not intended for consumption. PICKUPS A one-hour window will be assigned for each pickup at the time of booking. Should you fail to pick up your order in the agreed upon timeframe, we are not responsible for you potentially having to wait or reschedule a pickup time. We have several pickups and deliveries on any given day and stagger these times accordingly to accommodate each client. If you miss your window, we may have to leave for delivery and will be unavailable until we return. If you need to reschedule your pickup date or time, reach out as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you - however, please note that if you request a change less than one week in advance, we may not be able to accommodate a new date or time since we have prexisting obligations to other clients. If you elect to pickup your order, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake after it leaves our possession. If the cake is damaged during transit, we may be able to repair it if we have available time, however, any repairs will be subject to additional charges dependent on the level of repair work needed. The safest way to travel with the cake is to place it on a flat surface such as the floor - NOT on a seat. You may also have a passenger hold the cake on their lap. Make sure to keep all windows closed and the AC is running to ensure a cool environment to reduce the risk of melting. Keep the cake away from sunlight as it travels in your car. Prolonged transportation time without proper air-conditioning or rough driving conditions may result in damages such as cracks, smudges, melting, etc. Carry the cake from the bottom of the box NOT from the sides or handle. Hold the box upright taking care not to tilt, jolt, or bump the box. Store your cake in the fridge until the start of your party, unless advised otherwise by us. You may take your cake out to display, however, note that it is best displayed in an air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight. Heat and humidity from outside events may cause the buttercream to melt or may result in a large amount of condensation that may damage some of the detail work on the cake. DELIVERY Delivery is available and priced according to distance. We require at least a one-hour window for delivery prior to your event. Should someone not be available to receive the order during that scheduled window, we may not be able to wait past the allotted time due to other delivery obligations. Please ensure someone is available to receive the order, we will not be able to leave it at your doorstep due to the nature of our work being food products. Should you choose to cancel your delivery and opt for pickup, you must inform us in writing at least 7 days prior to the delivery date. If you request to cancel your delivery past that time, we may not provide a refund as we will have already scheduled your delivery and secured a delivery driver. Delivery only requires us to deliver the product to the designated delivery location. Dessert table setup is an additional service and is an additional charge. If you wish to add this service on, it must be communicated by the time your balance is due. SERVING Cake is best served at room temperature. This ensures that the butter in the buttercream is soft. Cold cake may seem “dry”, however if you allow it to come to room temp, it will be luscious and moist. Serving sizes are based off of 1x4 standard portions or 1x2 coffee portions. We are not responsible if a cake shortage occurs because cake pieces are cut larger than our recommended portions. ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION Since our works are art, each cake and dessert is subject to the cake artists’ discretion/interpretation. Our cakes will not be exact replicas to reference photos included in your order. Reference photos serve as inspiration, but each cake will have the P+P touch and will be uniquely ours. Cakes may vary from reference photos or sketches as we reserve the right to make changes as we create the cake and bring all the details together. This is to ensure that the cake is cohesive. Sometimes sketches don’t translate perfectly to the real cake so there may be some variability. We photograph all of our work beforehand and reserve the right to use these photographs for display or promotion. We also welcome you to photograph your cakes and post them, we just ask that you tag us or shout us out. Word of mouth is huge for small businesses and we love to see you enjoying our cakes! Furthermore, you can connect us with your event photographer as well so we can share their photos and help promote their business as well. OUR OBLIGATION We take our obligation to provide your cake & desserts very seriously. However, should an unforeseeable event occur preventing us from fulfilling our obligation and force us to cancel our agreement with you, we will refund your payment in full or transfer funds to a different baker. If possible, we will work with you to find another qualified pastry chef or local bakery to assist you in fulfilling your order. ALLERGENS Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. Allergies must be communicated to us beforehand and we will assist you on which products do or do not contain those ingredients. While we do offer some dairy-free, nut-free, and gluten-free options, we are NOT a DF, NF, or GF facility. It is your obligation to inform guests of the risk of consuming a product that contains or which was made in a facility containing a particular allergen and hold us harmless for any allergic reactions. SAFETY Cakes may contain inedible objects including but not limited to: skewers or floral wire/tape for displaying flowers or fondant details, dowels, straws, and cake boards for structure, acrylic toppers or charms, styrofoam balls, etc. Flowers, fondant/chocolate details, and cake toppers or charms should be removed prior to cutting the cake. Support skewers, straws, and cake boards can be removed while cutting and serving. While fondant details are edible, we urge you to exercise caution as they may have a skewer or toothpick to attach them to the cake. Furthermore, please use discretion when serving desserts that may contain nonpareils, fondant, or other small details to young children. These pieces can be removed before serving to ensure safety.
