Deviled Eggs or Cookies? Katie Moellering
I was scrolling through Facebook the other day when I saw that Sarah happened to have some cookies that looked just like deviled eggs.
I dont know if someone forgot to pick their order up or what, but she posted in our neighborhood group she had a couple of dozen for sale.
It was lucky I saw that because it happened to me my daughter's birthday the next day and I was supposed to make lemon bars for the party - but there were too many people coming I would have been baking lemon bars for hours, so I jumped on Sarah's offer. These cookies are so good I was so surprised!
First of all, they look just like deviled eggs. Everybody at the party was talking about it. The ladies who like deviled eggs were marveling at the paprika which is not paprika but some kind of colored sugar but seriously if you looked at the table you would think we had some lemon bars and some plates of deviled eggs. And here's the thing: they look so good that I thought - well they're probably just going to be serviceable and taste ok. WRONG.
The cookies were really good!! I was really surprised!
The cookies had a great texture and they were soft and chewy. The icing wasn't hard even though it's set, so I thought it might crumble when I bit into it, but it just melted in my mouth.
These were great cookies, we will totally get cookies again from Sarah. Thank you so much!
