Unlike store bought bread, homemade bread has NO preservatives or additives.
For best results, eat within a few days & store in a cool dry place. Bread can also be frozen!
Can I freeze my sourdough?
Sourdough breads freeze beautifully!
Sourdough can be placed in a freezer safe bag as a whole or sliced. If sliced, place a piece of parchment paper in between slices and then place in a freezer bag. For individual slices, just pop them right in the toaster to refresh them.
If you choose to freeze the whole loaf, pull out of freezer approx 12-24 hours before wanting to consume.
Once defrosted, unwrap the sourdough and get the loaf wet (you can literally run it under the faucet), and place it directly on the rack of a hot oven for 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy!
** You don't have to wait for it to cool down, you can cut it warm if it's been defrosted and refreshed. **
