Yes! Just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, then put your wrapped bread into an airtight container. It can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
How do I take care of my bread?
Homemade bread is different from store-bought bread because it is made with no preservatives. Unfortunately, that means its shelf life is significantly shorter. Below are a few tips to keep your bread lasting as long as possible.
- All breads have a shelf life of 5 to 7 days. Once your bread gets to that 7th day, it is at risk of molding. If you find your bread a little on the stale side, try giving it a new life by making bread crumbs or croutons!
- Fresh bread can be stored in the fridge, but it is not recommended. The cold air can dry the bread out faster and shorten its life. Instead, keep it on your counter in an airtight container or in a bread box. Keep out of direct sunlight and heat.
- Fresh bread can be frozen. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, then place in an airtight container before freezing. Your bread can last 3 months in the freezer. Thaw on counter for 24 hours before use. If your bread is sliced, place a piece of wax paper between each slice, then wrap.
Do you offer gluten free bread?
I do not. I'm considered a cottage baker and can't make health claims like "gluten-free" or "heart healthy." Once I start making special items like gluten-free bread, I would need to "level up" my licensing.
