Daughter of Sophia is a tiny home/cottage bakery based in Central Louisiana, run by me, Candy McCullough.
I began my sourdough baking in mid 2023 by starting my beautiful starter, Sophia Breadrillo, from scratch. When I started it, I could never have imagined how much I would love the entire process. I started sharing with friends and family and things just kind of took off from there.
I decided that if I am going to do this, I am going to do it my way. My idea is to incorporate flavors and combinations that are unique to the south where (let’s face it) the food is unmatched.
But really, I just want to have fun with it. Selling it allows me to be able to play with the dough more. And that’s really all I want.
I am a life long bread lover and never dreamed I would be making it for other people to enjoy. Though it does make sense, because I love cooking for my family and friends.
