Welcome to Chaffee Country Bake shop! My name is Kim and I’ve been a proud resident of Lake Chaffee since 2012 and am a mom of two boys. With over 20 years of experience in food service management, I currently serve as the General Manager for UConn Dining Services. I am ServSafe certified and also work as a trainer in food safety, helping others build strong, safe practices in the kitchen.

My passion for cooking has been lifelong. One of my earliest memories is trying to bake a cake in the microwave as a child—something that sparked a love for baking that never faded. As an adult, I attended the former Connecticut Culinary Institute, where I completed advanced programs in both Culinary Arts and Baking.

While my career path led me into food service management, I never stopped cooking and baking. From creating birthday cakes for my children to exploring international cuisine at home, the kitchen has always been my creative space. Over the years, I’ve also developed skills in canning and preserving, and more recently, I’ve embraced the art of wild yeast—sourdough baking.

My dream has always been to open my own bakery, café, and cooperative store—something that brings a unique and meaningful experience to my community.

I don’t require a deposit but payment needs to be made before pick up to secure order.

It’s a 4 day lead time for my weekend bakes to ensure I have all the products needed.

Inventory availability after the four-day order cutoff may vary based on weekly demand, product availability, and order volume. While every effort is made to fulfill all requests, certain items may be limited or unavailable depending on what has been ordered during that production cycle.
