Meet Alicia — The Heart Behind Callidora Homestead
Hi, I’m Alicia — the baker, wife, mom, and homemaker behind Callidora Homestead. What started as a simple desire to make fresh sandwich bread for my children quickly turned into a love story with sourdough — one that’s deeply rooted in family, creativity, and care.
My sourdough journey began with a little nudge (and a starter!) from my Uncle Mark, who patiently walked me through every bubbly, imperfect loaf until I found my rhythm. From that first rise, I was hooked — not just on the bread itself, but on the process. The patience, the feel of the dough in my hands, the quiet moments in the kitchen before the world wakes up — it all reminded me of what matters most: slowing down, nourishing the people I love, and finding joy in simple things.
Here on our small homestead, life is full and beautifully messy. You’ll often find me with my hands in the dirt tending to our garden, caring for our chickens and ducks, or laughing with my kids as we collect eggs on sunny mornings. I cherish beach days, good books, the warmth of the sun, and evenings spent around the table — sometimes with a cold glass of wine and good friends, always with gratitude for the life we’re building.
None of this would be possible without my best friend and loving husband, Adam. He’s the heart that keeps our homestead running and the one who turns every “what if we…” into a reality. From chasing chickens to chasing dreams, he works tirelessly to bring our shared visions to life — always believing in my ideas, supporting every adventure, and standing beside me in every season. His love, patience, and determination make Callidora Homestead what it is today — a dream we’ve built together, one project and loaf at a time.
Callidora Homestead is more than a place; it’s a reflection of our family’s heart — where love, hard work, and homemade goodness come together. Every loaf of bread, every jar of jelly, every batch of cookies carries a little piece of that love.
