Meet Anita Underwood: The Heart Behind Selah Moon Organic Bakery

Selah Moon Organic Bakery was born from a passion for faith, family, and homemade baking.

Founded by Anita Underwood, a Spirit-filled woman who loves Jesus Christ with all her heart, Selah Moon is much more than a bakery—it's a testimony of God's goodness, faithfulness, and healing power.

Anita's journey has not always been easy. After facing one of life's greatest battles and being healed from cancer, she gained a deeper appreciation for every blessing God had given her. Through that season, she learned to trust God completely and discovered that even the hardest trials can become a testimony of His grace.

Today, Anita is blessed to share life with her loving husband, five wonderful children, and two precious grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of everything she does, and many of her favorite memories have been made in the kitchen baking treats for the people she loves most.

One of Anita's greatest joys has been sharing her love of baking with her daughters. Over the years, countless hours have been spent side by side in the kitchen, measuring ingredients, kneading dough, decorating treats, and creating cherished family memories. Teaching her daughters how to bake has become a meaningful way to pass down family traditions, valuable life skills, and the importance of serving others with love. Many of the recipes and techniques used at Selah Moon have been refined through these special moments together.

What started as a love for baking soon became a calling. Anita wanted to create delicious homemade baked goods using quality ingredients while building a business that reflected her faith and values. She dreamed of a bakery where every loaf of bread, cookie, brownie, pie, and sweet treat would be made with care, purpose, and prayer.

That dream became Selah Moon Organic Bakery.

The bakery's unique name was lovingly created by one of Anita's daughters, making it even more special to their family. Inspired by faith, beauty, and creativity, she combined the name "Selah" with "Moon" to create a name that felt peaceful, memorable, and meaningful. The name immediately resonated with Anita and perfectly reflected the heart of the bakery.

The name "Selah" is found throughout the Book of Psalms and is often understood as an invitation to pause, reflect, and rest in God's presence. Anita wanted her bakery to embody that same spirit—a place where people could slow down, enjoy simple blessings, and experience the comfort that comes from homemade food made with love.

At Selah Moon Organic Bakery, every product is handmade in small batches using carefully selected ingredients. Anita believes that good food brings people together and that sharing a meal or a sweet treat can create moments of joy, connection, and fellowship. She especially treasures the opportunity to work alongside her daughters, continuing to teach and inspire the next generation through the art of baking.

But above all else, Anita's greatest desire is to honor Jesus Christ through her life and business. Her faith influences every aspect of Selah Moon, from the way customers are treated to the quality of every item that leaves the kitchen.

When she's not baking, Anita enjoys spending time with her family, loving on her grandchildren, studying God's Word, serving others, and finding new ways to bring smiles to people's faces through her baking.

All orders 1 Dozen or under must be paid in full at the time of order unless paying with cash. Cash orders need to still submit order and select “Cash” at checkout. This will give the total price with tax & notify us of your order.

Any orders over 1 Dozen require a minimum deposit of 50% at the time of order and require at least 48 hours notice.

We do offer quantity pricing on orders of 2 Dozen or more. Message us for more information .
